Hot Bites and Calm Tides: Prime Inshore Fishing Near Biloxi, Gulfport & Gautier fishing report coverpicture

May 24, 2025

Gulfport Harbor - Harrison, MS Fishing Report on 24th May, 2025

Mississippi Gulf Coast Fishing Report – May 2025 From a Charter Based in Gautier, MS (Serving Biloxi, Gulfport & Surrounding Areas) The inshore bite has been strong this week along the Mississippi Gulf Coast, especially in the waters stretching from Gautier toward Biloxi and Gulfport. Water temps are warming up, and the fish are active in the early mornings and late afternoons. Redfish have been schooling near the grass lines and oyster beds, hitting live shrimp under popping corks and soft plastics on light tackle. Slot-sized reds are plentiful, with a few bull reds mixed in around deeper channels and points. Speckled trout action is heating up over sandy bottoms and around submerged structure. Anglers drifting over reefs are finding solid numbers, especially using live croaker or artificial twitch baits. Flounder are making a steady appearance along drop-offs and creek mouths. Jigging with Gulp! or mud minnows on a Carolina rig has produced good results for anglers targeting them near Gautier’s bayous and inlets. Bonus catches like black drum and sheepshead have also been common, adding some variety to the ice chest. These species are being caught around pilings and near bridge structure using live shrimp or fiddler crabs. With stable weather and good tides, now is a great time to book a charter. Conditions are ideal for anglers of all skill levels, and our experienced captains know exactly where to go to put you on fish. Whether you're fishing out of Gautier and exploring the waters near Biloxi or Gulfport, the bite is on—don't miss out!
